Beautiful.ai
3.9

Presentation software that designs slides for you

Gamma
3.8

AI-native deck generator built around a scrollable card canvas, with the fastest prompt-to-deck workflow of the four tools in this guide and the worst Trustpilot score

ToolsGavel verdict

Gamma wins for most individuals on the numbers you can check: it has a free plan with no card, an entry price of $9 a month annual or $12 monthly against Beautiful.ai's $14.50 annual or $45 monthly. Beautiful.ai wins on finished-deck polish, a conventional fixed-slide file that goes to PowerPoint without the conversion problems Gamma users report, and a cleaner billing record. Pick Gamma if you want to test for free and you are happy to share a web link. Pick Beautiful.ai if the deck leaves your hands as a file and you will use it often enough to sit on the annual plan.

Which one should you pick?

Choose Beautiful.ai if…

  • You send finished decks as PowerPoint or PDF files and need them to arrive looking the way you built them.
  • You make decks regularly and will commit to the $14.50 annual plan instead of paying $45 a month.
  • Layout consistency matters more to you than how fast the first draft appears.

Choose Gamma if…

  • You want to test a full AI deck for free, with no credit card, before paying anything.
  • Your audience will view the deck as a web link and a perfect PowerPoint file is not required.
  • You need a cheap monthly plan for a single project, where Beautiful.ai charges $45.
Criterion Beautiful.ai Gamma
Entry paid price Pro is $14.50/mo billed annually ($174/yr). The month-to-month option is $45 and is pitched at one-off projects Plus is $9 per seat per month billed annually ($108/yr) or $12 billed monthly. Annual billing saves about 25%
Free plan No permanent free plan. 14-day trial of Pro or Team, credit card required, charged automatically unless you cancel Permanent free plan, no card: 400 one-time AI credits that never refresh, up to 10 slides per prompt, watermark on exports
How a deck gets built Prompt, outline or source material, then 300+ auto-aligning Smart Slide layouts that keep spacing and alignment tidy as you edit Prompt or uploaded document, and Gamma writes the outline and lays out a scrollable card deck with no template browsing first
Layout polish and control Layouts adjust themselves, so slides stay aligned. Less pixel-level freedom than PowerPoint Card canvas, not fixed slides. Reviewers report AI output that can read as generic and edits that get ignored
PowerPoint export PowerPoint and PDF export listed on the vendor's own page; the deck is built on fixed slides PPTX, PDF, PNG and Google Slides exports, but the card-to-slide conversion is the most repeated complaint in reviews
Team features Team is $40/user/mo annually or $50 monthly. Adds real-time co-editing, a shared template library and version control. Enterprise adds SSO and SCIM Real-time co-editing on every paid plan; Pro adds a team workspace with a shared brand kit and up to 10 custom domains

What each one really costs

The billing catch Pro jumps to $45/mo billed monthly (versus $14.50/mo annually), and there is no permanent free plan, only a 14-day trial that now requires a card and auto-charges on day 14. Annual billing matched the monthly rate exactly on this check, no discount for prepaying a year, unusual enough that it is worth reconfirming before you buy.

Beautiful.ai or Gamma: which should you pick?

For most individuals, Gamma. It has a free plan that needs no credit card, its entry price is $9 a month billed annually ($12 monthly), and it builds a full deck from a prompt. Beautiful.ai costs $14.50 a month on annual billing, or $45 if you pay month to month, and it has no free plan, only a 14-day trial that asks for a card.

Beautiful.ai is the better choice when the deck leaves your hands as a file. It builds on fixed slides with layouts that adjust as you edit, and it exports to PowerPoint and PDF. Gamma uses a scrollable card format, and users report that converting it to PowerPoint can break layouts.

Both tools have the same pitch: describe what you need and get a presentable deck without designing it yourself. The real differences are what you pay, what you can try first, and what format you hand to the audience.

What do Beautiful.ai and Gamma cost?

Gamma is cheaper at every entry point, and the gap is widest if you pay month to month.

Top tierEnterprise, customUltra $90/seat/mo annual, $100 monthly

The Beautiful.ai monthly premium is the number to watch. A year of $45 months costs $540, against $174 on the annual plan. The pricing page frames the monthly option as a way to handle a single project, and that is the only sensible use of it. If you need a deck this week and never again, $45 is a fair price for a month. If you will make decks all year, the annual plan is the price to compare.

Gamma’s annual discount is real but smaller in dollars. Plus costs $144 a year billed monthly ($12 x 12) and $108 billed annually, a 25% saving. A year of Beautiful.ai Pro costs $174 on the annual plan and $540 month to month, so Gamma Plus is $66 cheaper on annual billing and $396 cheaper on monthly billing. Prices come from each vendor’s pricing page, checked in a browser on November 8, 2026.

Gamma free vs Plus vs Pro: what do you get?

Free is a real plan, but the credits are a one-time grant. Paid plans are where the monthly allowance, the unwatermarked exports and the team features start.

Credits are spent per action, and the cost shifts with the AI model and how complex the request is. One click on generate does not always cost the same. The Free allowance can also be raised by referrals, up to 2,000 credits held at a time, and free users cannot buy extra.

Free vs Plus comes down to volume. If you need one or two decks and can live with the watermark, Free is enough. If you make decks weekly, 400 credits that never come back will run out, and Plus at $9 to $12 is the cheap fix. Free vs Pro is a team question: you want the shared brand kit and workspace, or you need unlimited slides per prompt.

Our Gamma review has the full plan breakdown and the Trustpilot billing complaints in detail.

How do the free options compare?

Gamma gives you a free plan; Beautiful.ai gives you a trial that needs a card.

Beautiful.ai’s pricing page says a free trial requires a credit card, and that the card on file is charged automatically unless you cancel before the 14 days end. Set a reminder for day 12. There is no permanent plan after the trial.

Gamma’s free plan has no card requirement and does not expire. The cost is the limited credits, 10 slides per prompt and the “Made with Gamma” badge on every export. For a first deck or a decision between the two, it is the cheaper way to test.

Which builds a better deck?

Beautiful.ai gives steadier layouts, and Gamma gives faster first drafts. We ran no quality test, and neither vendor publishes one.

Beautiful.ai starts from a prompt, a full outline or source material, and lets you review the outline before it generates slides. The slides sit on 300+ Smart Slide layouts that realign themselves as you add content, so the deck stays tidy. The price is control: our review notes you get less pixel-level freedom than PowerPoint.

Gamma writes the outline, picks the visuals and lays out the deck from a prompt or an uploaded document, with no template step in between. Reviewers who liked the result said it needed little manual design work. Others said the output can read as generic or repetitive across slides, and that the assistant sometimes ignores specific edit instructions.

If you want a deck on screen in a minute, Gamma. If you want every slide to look like it belongs to the same deck, Beautiful.ai.

Which exports to PowerPoint better?

Beautiful.ai. Its homepage lists export to PDF and PowerPoint, and because it builds on fixed slides there is no format change to survive.

Gamma also exports PPTX, PDF, PNG and Google Slides. The trouble is the format underneath. Gamma’s native deck is a scrollable canvas, and turning it into fixed 16:9 slides is the single most repeated technical complaint in its reviews: broken layouts, flattened animations and embeds, and resized images. If you share a Gamma deck as a live link, you avoid the problem. If your boss wants a .pptx, generate a real deck and open the export first.

Which is better for teams?

Gamma is cheaper to share across a small group, and Beautiful.ai has the deeper admin layer.

Gamma’s real-time editing, live cursors and comments come on every paid plan according to our review. Pro adds a shared brand kit and a team workspace.

Beautiful.ai puts real-time co-editing on the Team plan, along with a centralized slide and template library, version control with locked slides, a shared asset library and viewer permissions. Team is listed at $40 per user a month annually or $50 monthly for 2 to 20 seats. The price header also reads “includes 3 users,” which conflicts with the per-user wording, so confirm the total with sales before you budget for it. Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, audit logs and SOC 2 Type II.

Brand control is not exclusive to either one. Beautiful.ai’s Pro plan already lists custom branding and a theme builder.

What do Beautiful.ai examples look like?

Beautiful.ai publishes a template gallery at beautiful.ai/presentations. Its templates run from a seed round presentation and a tech startup pitch deck to a consulting proposal and a quarterly sales report, so you can judge the finished look before you start a trial.

We could not open Gamma’s gallery today, so we cannot describe its examples. Gamma’s own product is the faster test: the free plan lets you generate a real deck on a topic you actually need.

Beautiful.ai vs Gamma vs Canva

Canva belongs in the comparison because most people check it anyway. It is a general design platform, and decks are one of more than 1,000 design types. Its free plan is permanent, includes presentations, and gives limited access to AI. Pro is $12 a month billed annually ($144 a year). Canva’s own page did not show the monthly rate in our October check, and trackers report about $18.

Pick Canva if decks are one job among several, or you want the largest free plan. Our Canva review covers its AI limits, which Canva sells as multiples of Free rather than a number. Pick Gamma for speed and the cheapest start. Pick Beautiful.ai when polish and export matter most.

So which should you pick?

Start on Gamma’s free plan if you are undecided, because it costs nothing and needs no card. If the result is a deck you share as a link, you are done. If you need to hand over a clean PowerPoint, or your Gamma export breaks, move to Beautiful.ai’s annual plan and skip the $45 monthly price. If you also design other things, look at Canva first.

Frequently asked questions

Beautiful.ai or Gamma: which is better?

Gamma for most individuals, because it has a permanent free plan and a lower entry price on both billing cycles ($9 against $14.50 a month billed annually, $12 against $45 billed monthly). Beautiful.ai is the better fit if the deck must go out as a PowerPoint or PDF file with its layout intact, and you will use it enough to stay on annual billing.

Is Gamma free?

Yes, with limits. The free plan is permanent and needs no credit card. You get 400 AI credits once, and they do not refresh. A prompt can produce up to 10 slides, and exports carry a 'Made with Gamma' watermark. Gamma's help center says an account can hold up to 2,000 credits at once, which is the ceiling for credits earned through referrals.

Gamma free vs paid: what changes when you pay?

Paid plans remove the watermark, add monthly credits (1,500 on Plus, 4,000 on Pro, 20,000 on Ultra per Gamma's help center), raise the slides-per-prompt limit and unlock stronger AI models. Pro also adds a team workspace with a shared brand kit and custom domains.

Gamma free vs Plus: is Plus worth $9?

If you make more than a couple of decks, yes. Plus is $9 a month billed annually or $12 billed monthly. Free gives 400 credits that never come back, so you can run out after a handful of generations. Plus removes the watermark, allows 100 slides per prompt and gives 1,500 credits a month. If you only need one deck, stay on Free.

Gamma free vs Pro: when do you need Pro?

When several people work on decks and brand control matters. Pro is $18 per seat per month billed annually ($25 monthly) and adds 4,000 credits, unlimited slides per prompt, a shared team brand kit, up to 10 custom domains and the premium AI model. A solo user rarely needs it.

How much more does Beautiful.ai cost month to month?

A lot. Pro is $14.50 a month on annual billing ($174 a year). The month-to-month option is $45, so a full year of monthly billing is $540. That is about three times the annual price. The page presents the monthly option as a way to handle a one-time project.

Does Beautiful.ai have a free plan?

No. It offers a 14-day trial of Pro or Team. The pricing page says a credit card is required, and that your card is charged automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends.

Is Gamma or Beautiful.ai better for PowerPoint?

Beautiful.ai. It builds on fixed slides and lists PowerPoint and PDF export. Gamma's native format is a scrollable card canvas, and converting it to fixed 16:9 slides is the most repeated technical complaint in its reviews. Test an export of a real deck before you rely on it.

Beautiful.ai vs Gamma vs Canva: which should I use?

Canva if you also design social graphics or documents, or want the largest free plan. Gamma for the fastest prompt-to-deck workflow and a free start. Beautiful.ai for polished, consistent decks you will export. Canva's Pro plan is $12 a month billed annually, and its free plan includes presentations with limited AI.

Where can I see examples of Beautiful.ai presentations?

Beautiful.ai publishes a template gallery at beautiful.ai/presentations. Examples listed there include a seed round presentation, a business pitch, a tech startup pitch deck, a consulting proposal and a quarterly sales report.

How we compared

We compared both products using each vendor's own material: the Beautiful.ai and Gamma pricing pages and homepages, and Gamma's help center, with our own reviews of Beautiful.ai, Gamma and Canva as the baseline. Beautiful.ai prices were read on beautiful.ai/pricing on November 8, 2026. Gamma's monthly and annual prices were read on gamma.app/pricing, checked in a browser on November 8, 2026, and Gamma's help center backs the credit wording. Where a third-party price tracker disagreed with a vendor page we say so. We could not open Gamma's template gallery, so the examples section covers Beautiful.ai only. We did not run a head-to-head test of output quality or speed. We researched what people search for around this pair (Google Autocomplete, related searches and Keyword Planner). Reddit opinion is not covered on this page.
